Big fun DJ still in bed with Tinkers
MBABANE – A Big Fun Entertainment DJ is still playing at Tinkers despite their recent split.
DJ Czar was one of the spinners who were behind the turntables during their show dubbed ‘Insomnia’. There were even reports that he had jumped ship and moved to Rhythm Nation, which is run by Tinkers Director Tyrone Reid.
But yesterday the spinner said he wanted to clarify that he was still part and parcel of the Big Fun crew, whose relationship with Tinkers nightclub elapsed last week.
This is despite that the youngster has been featured at the club together with Reid of Clubworxx and others that included Claiming Grounds’ Mozaik and Khux.
A few months ago, he was even made the ambassador of the now popular song ‘Sengdziniwe’ which belongs to Reid and Mozaik and featured upcoming Afro-Jazz artist Nomalungelo Dladla.
He maintained to the Entertainment Desk that he was still a member of Big Fun and did not have plans to quit them.
“I am still with Big Fun but I will still perform at Tinkers because it’s not like there is war. I can feature anywhere if I am booked so people must not be confused,” he said.
The youngster is part of the list of spinners under Big Fun Entertainment who are set to rock at this Friday’s Varsity Bash to take place at Le Zone.
The Tinkers/Big Fun relationship came to an unexpected end last week.
The two parties were the big thing where entertainment is concerned, as they hosted a lot of shows that featured top South African stars like DJ Cleo, Fresh, Tira and groups like Big Nuz among others. They also co-hosted the successful foam parties at the nightpot.
When Big Fun’s Khulekani ‘Karly B’ Mamba was contacted on the issue, he mentioned that they did have a meeting with Czar about this and he told them that he was still under their wing.
He didn’t want to comment further as he referred more comments to the crew’s spokesperson Sdeez Zwane who said he was too busy to respond on the matter.
Tinkers director, Reid, after being briefed about Czar’s position, said he would hold his comments for now.
