MANZINI – Fun lovers were greeted by a big apology notice at Club Le Zone’s entrance where South African artists Nhlanhla Nciza and PRO were supposed to perform on Friday night.

Fun lovers crammed the club’s entrance in preparation for the show but were disappointed to find the notice which partly read, ‘Nhlanhla Nciza and PRO show has been cancelled but the party still goes on with our resident deejays”.
Thanduxolo Tshabalala of TH Megatainment was supposed to launch his entertainment stable at the venue but it transpired that he had failed to secure enough money to pay the artists. As earlier reported, the artists required a total amount of E55 000.

In an interview with the Entertainment Desk, Tshabalala said: “By 6pm on Friday, no tickets were sold. As the director of TH Megatainment, I have postponed the event to April 30th and this time it will be at House on Fire. Those who had won tickets need not worry because the offer still stands and they should not sms again. I fully apologise to the public and promise that such will not happen again,”

Tshabalala further urged the public to buy pre sale tickets in order to avoid disappointment. Thulani Mthethwa, the spokesperson of Le Zone Club said: “We were very disappointed. It also opened our eyes. In as much as we want to work with our fellow Swazis we must start being strict. We feel like we were taken for a ride. We would really like to apologise to our patrons for the blunder that we have made and promise them that it will not happen again next time. We want to emphasise that it was not our show. We had hired out the venue to TH Megatainment. We are always open to leasing out our premises to other people but we are really disappointed at what has just happened. What happened on Friday night was not our fault.”

A normal night at the club resumed and patrons were then only charged E20. Resident deejays Mavree, Lady Cream, Cheez, Six 9, Pee du and Mfundo made sure that revellers danced till they dropped.

Sifiso Dlamini from Mbabane who had attended the show said: “We are very disappointed that the South African artists we had come to see are not here, but we are very grateful to the management of Le Zone for thinking on their feet and affording us this opportunity to still have a great night. I’m sure people passing by think that the artists are here.”

Of note, the director of TH Megatainment was nowhere to be seen on the night and one of the directors of the club said he had still not officially apologised to management for what had happened.
