Metre-reading' into a guest house bedroom
Sir,
May I through your daily read newspaper add my voice and share my experience on the issue of SEC metre readers and their estimating our consumption.
I live in Thembelihle in an unused guest house. On Tuesday April 13, 2010 at around noon a metre reader trespassed our yard to gain entry into the guest house with a woman in tow.
This clearly was not a meter reading excursion since he completely ignored our metre which is hardly five metres from his point of entry into the guest house. Mind you sir, there is no thoroughfare between both properties.
Since it was not the first time for this man to use our property to gain entry on his illicit love nest, (he is wearing a wedding band), I promptly followed him and his partner.
Finding them in one of the bedrooms, I enquired as to why he uses our property to gain entry into the guest house. With utmost arrogance he told me he personally knew, the guest house owner and had his permission. I then asked if that was the case why didn’t the owner give him keys to the gate, he answered that he was told he would find one of the guest house employees.
I again enquired as to the whereabouts of the owner, the answer I got was he was at Checkers.
All this time he was arrogantly telling me he personally knew the owner and whilst pointing his forefinger at my face. Sir, only sheer self control stopped me from giving this ‘Bogi Benda’ character a thorough beating.
I decided to leave this man to his intended sexual escapade and warned him not to use our property on his exit. To my disgust and shock he nonchalantly told me he intended to be there the entire afternoon? I then told him since I knew him I would enquire from his bosses if sexual escapades during working hours at SEC was the norm.
Our metre has not been read in over six months.
Yes sir I have a dog, but it has not stopped him from his sexual escapades and as stated my metre is hardly five metres from his thoroughfare to his love nest, yet he completely ignores reading it. Mr Editor I would appreciate if you would solicit a response from SEC or forward my letter to them in its entirety.
