Shine Talent loser makes it to Big Fish's mass choir
MANZINI-A Shine Talent contestant who was eliminated during auditions held at the Theatre Club has achieved his goal after being chosen to be part of Sipho Makhabane’s mass choir.
Majaheni Dlamini was eliminated two weeks ago after failing to accumulate enough votes to qualify him for the top 10 regardless of giving an impressive performance.
Last Saturday, Dlamini was chosen among the over 200 aspiring musicians who came to try their luck at the Mavuso Trade Centre Pavilion.
“I am very much excited about the outcome of today’s audition since being booted out at Shine Music Talent Show two weeks ago. The judges were really impressed with my performance, but after getting few votes, I had to be automatically eliminated,” he said.
Dlamini further said the Shine Music Talent Show was an eye opener and a stepping stone for him and hopes that he will be able to express himself better since he will be part of the new mass choir.
He further said as a born again Christian, he will be able to minister the word of God with the rest of the choir members as compared to Shine Music Talent Search Show where they are looking for a superstar.
Dlamini also encouraged all those who did not make it at the Shine Music Talent Search Show and also at Makhabane’s auditions not to give up and keep dreaming so that they can become top musicians in the future.
Dlamini was not the only contestant from the Shine Talent Search show who tried his luck as six others did but could not make it to the top20.
Shine Music Talent Search Show director Larry Mhlanga said he was very happy to see one if their contestants feature on the project whose brainchild is Makhabane.
“I noticed Majaheni from the beginning of the show that he has potential in gospel music. It is a pity that Shine was not about gospel, but I am excited that he made it through this time at Makhabane’s auditions.
This proves that the show is really an eye opener as the more we host such shows the more we will up-root local talent.
The newly formed mass choir will perform at the much anticipated Joyous Celebration show on Saturday.
