Madze' to miss Top Lotto finals
LOBAMBA – Umbelebele coach Harris ‘Madze’ Bulunga moaned the possibility of missing his team’s first cup final due to his looming National Under 20 COSAFA bound squad.
Commenting soon after guiding his team to a date with Mbabane Highlanders in the final, Bulunga said missing the final would be hard to swallow. He said apart from the COSAFA Under 20 tournament in Kimberly South Africa, he would have to proceed to the Zone Six Under 20 tournament in Potchersroom also in South Africa.
"I have since been informed that the finals will be held on December 7, and that day I will be engaged with Under 20 for both the COSAFA and the Zone Six Games. It would be very bad for me to miss such a big day in my life and the team as well. I have worked to reach this stage," he said.
Asked on the match, he said they worked hard to try to forget last week’s 5-1 demolition by Mbabane Highlanders, who they meet in the final. Asked as to which team between Highlanders and Sundowns he would prefer to play in the finals, he boldly said his charges were ready for anyone.
"For the whole week I worked on the players’ mentality, helping them to forget last week’s defeat and the good thing is that we managed," he said.
Meanwhile, Malanti Chiefs coach Benjamin Chilongo rightly attributed their loss to the many chances that went begging.
"We played well, if considering the number of chances we created. The bad thing is that we failed to bury those chances. Otherwise, I am impressed with the progress in the team," he said.
