Timothy lays charges against mzwakhe

MBABANE – Timothy Myeni, the leader of Ncandvweni Christ Ambassadors has reported his brother Mzwakhe to police for allegedly threatening to kill him.

Timothy opened a case against Mzwakhe about a week ago at the Manzini Police Station and due to the seriousness of this issue police top brass are working on it.

Vusi Masuku, former Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that a case has been opened by Timothy and the matter is being investigated.

Masuku spoke to us last week before he was promoted to his new post at the police college.

In an interview with the Times SUNDAY, Timothy alleged that Mzwakhe had made an elaborate plan to kill him.

This has been denied by Mzwakhe.

The plan, according to Timothy, involves hit men from South Africa who were brought into the country to end his life.

They were allegedly paid a lump sum to carry out the mandate of killing the Lubulini Member of Parliament.

As if to prove the seriousness of the threats, he says there was already a failed attempt to end his life and that of his family residing at his plush home at Madonsa Township a few days ago. The alleged attackers arrived at his residence in the early hours of Friday morning with the intention of killing Timothy and his family.

The plan failed after a vehicle belonging to Timothy arrived from South Africa at the residence.

This was then followed with a letter which carried terrorism threats thrown into Timothy’s property.

The threats were centred on bombing Timothy’s E4 million house. This threat has not been carried out.

The letter was taken to police by Timothy and it adds to the evidence that Timothy’s life is in danger.

On Wednesday night police swamped Timothy’s residence after they received information that the alleged hit men would attack.

The police came heavily armed and wore plain clothes. However they waited in vain for the killers.

On the same day, they received information from an alleged member of the gang who arrived at Timothy’s homestead. He informed Timothy in the presence of the police that the plan to kill him had been pushed forward.

The alleged hit man, known to this publication but will not be identified as investigations continue, narrated to the police how he allegedly worked with Mzwakhe to try and kill his brother Timothy.

He claimed to be a member of the team that was allegedly contracted to kill Timothy. He alleges that there is a gun which was brought into the country from South Africa to fulfil the purpose.

members

This is a new twist to the whole saga involving key members of the country’s top selling group, Ncandvweni Christ Ambassadors.

These developments come through after the brothers were involved in a verbal showdown through the media over monetary issues.

Mzwakhe and Thabile demanded shares from Timothy’s company NCA music which manages the group.

The fight started when Timothy refused with the shares and told them that his company was a closed corporation and he could only avail the shares on sale.

He however stated that the shares were not for sale at present.

This was followed by a lot of mudslinging between the brothers and this was followed by bomb and death threats to Timothy.

I can help them - Mkhatshwa

MBABANE- Retired Trade Unionist, Eliot Mkhatshwa has opened his doors to warring Myeni broth-ers, Timothy and Mzwakhe.

Mkhatshwa spends the better part of his time assisting people in solving their problems. These problems range from domestic, traditional and civil matters.

He is often compared to traditional Prime Minister Jim Gama by people who have been to his offices loaded with problems.

Mkhatshwa said he was ready to provide a neutral venue for the two to discuss and solve their problems. In his view their problem could be resolved in a round table set-up where they would sit, discuss and find a solution themselves for the problems that are haunting them.

His procedure is not complicated because it is based on dialogue where the two will be assisted to identify the problem, its source and possible solutions.

He says the relationship between the two brothers is important such that at the end it should be preserved for future generations in the family.

He said what happens between the two will affect the whole Myeni family set-up and caution must be exercised when coming up with a solution.

He will not be happy if their issues end up in a court of law especially because such would permanently damage the relationship between the two.

He said if there are now threats between the two that are directed to their lives, they should be dealt with by police.

"Threats should be taken serious and police should thoroughly investigate them and ensure that no life is in danger," he said.

His office would aim at maintaining peace between the two brothers.

Police tried to broker peace

MBABANE – The police, before the alleged death threats on Timothy Myeni’s life, had tried to bring the brothers together to broker peace.

Police separately met the warring brothers on two occasions.

This happened in Manzini last week where the Station Commander who was identified as Tsabedze was the mediator.

Senior Superintendent Vusi Masuku, former Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the police had engaged the Myeni brothers with the aim of repairing their relationship.

"Part of police duty is to repair disintegrated relations among citizens," he said. He said the mandate of the police to the society was that of peacemaker. Masuku also revealed that they were investigating terrorism threats against Timothy.

This follows allegations that his house worth E4 million was being targeted for bombing.

"A docket on this case was opened at the Manzini Police Station where there is a complaint about threats against Timothy and his property," he said.

No arrests have been made yet as investigations are still continuing.

Matter being discussed at family level - Mzwakhe

MBABANE – Mzwakhe Myeni, the younger of the brothers, said their prob-lems were being discussed at family level.

The family is making efforts to reconcile them and he believes his broken relationship with Timothy can still be repaired. He said the family fully supported his demand for a stake in Timothy’s company.

"We are entitled to a stake in the company especially because we are founders of the group, together with our sister Thabile," he said.

Mzwakhe said the family has held several meetings in an effort to find common ground between them.

police

Mzwakhe confirmed to have been summoned by police top brass to talk about the contentious issues with his brother.

The two have not been seeing eye to eye since Mzwakhe and Thabile who are members of the top selling group, Ncandvweni Christ Ambassadors, demanded shares from Timothy’s company, NCA Music.

Timothy refused with the shares and this was followed by a spat in the media.

The woes between the two got worse recently with allegations that Timothy’s house was a target for terrorism activ-ity.

Mzwakhe denied inv-olvement in the bom-bing threats.

"Why would I destroy my brothers’ property? He has not done anything wrong to me to deserve this," he said. He confirmed to have been told about the threats but doubted their authenticity.

"Why would anyone want to kill my brother? The whole thing is just unbelievable," he said.

Our problems can never reach that stage because we have the whole family behind us.

"The family wants this matter to be sorted out peacefully to the satisfaction of all the parties and it is not possible that I can be involved in this," he said.

According to Mzwakhe, discussions with the police never touched on Timothy’s house bombing threats.

"They are assisting us in solving our problems amicably," he said.
