Correctional, RSP in dog eat dog title race
MBABANE – Two sides in the ACS Netball League, Correctional Services and RSP are in a dog eat dog race as they fight for the league title.
Both sides have 34 points, but Correctional have an edge over their closest rivals for the title as they have a game in hand. They have played 17 games and are yet to lose while RSP, who are perched on second spot, have played 18 games.
This Saturday, the two sides are playing and any slip by the other would throw the competition wide open, especially if the leaders, Correctional, lose.
The defending champions, Correctional, meet fifth placed Home Affairs and eighth placed Illovo on the same day.
The first game starts at 12.15pm while the second game will be played at 1.30pm. If Correctional win both games and RSP also win, it will mean a four point lead for the former.
RSP, on the other hand, play 11th placed Wetlands at OlympAfrica Centre. The games start at 11am. On paper, both these sides look set to increase their leads and keep the race alive.
Worth noting is that Correctional have, over the years, been the dominant side in local netball and they still seem to be going strong such that a slip up is unlikely in this weekend’s game against Home Affairs.
