MBABANE - The African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation (ARIPO) is gearing up to celebrate its 50^th anniversary and has launched a continent-wide search for a commemorative logo to mark the milestone.

The organisation, which plays a pivotal role in harmonising intellectual property laws and regulations across Africa, is inviting designers to submit their creative concepts for a chance to win a significant cash prize.

The competition is a key part of the year-long celebration, which will highlight ARIPO’s half-century of work in promoting innovation and protecting intellectual property rights. Designers from all 22 of ARIPO’s member states, including the Eswatini Intellectual Property Office, are encouraged to participate. Local designers are encouraged to enter the competition and contribute to shaping the visual identity of this landmark milestone of the organisation that is responsible for the regional protection of intellectual property.

Celcolo Dludlu, the Registrar of Eswatini Intellectual Property, speaking during the Integrated branding and intellectual property masterclass held at Hilton Garden Inn on Thursday September 19, 2025, announced the call for designers in Eswatini in the room full of local creatives, stating: “We are members of ARIPO, they are having 50th anniversary since their existence, we are party of the system, some of the IP rights that we administer goes through ARIPO, we need a logo for that anniversary celebration, ARIPO is running a competition where the designer that will win, will win E17 384 of the logo of the anniversary, so we are advising local designers to submit their designers” he said.
