MBABANE – The outcry of DJs living in remote areas has seen prominent event organisers share tips on how they can access bookings.
This publication noted that a number of shows in the kingdom usually have the same line-ups, with few changes at times. After a comprehensive analysis of event posters, we noted that upcoming DJs and those living in remote areas are usually not featured much on prominent event line-ups. This has sparked a major outcry among these DJs, who are expressing their eagerness to be recognised on line-ups.
After noting this, the publication contacted a few event organisers from the country to share tips on how DJs in remote areas can access bookings. Experienced DJ Mistosoul, who is also the current Events Manager at IF’s Lounge Restaurant and Bar, shared that DJs should consider making themselves available and get out of their comfort zones.
“They should consider making their profiles available to the public. We should not run away from the fact that when a person is doing an event, they invest. They know that when they select a person on a line-up, they will be able to pull crowds to watch the event. I would also advise that they should make themselves available and build their brands.
“They should also do networking with the right people and show them their skills and their talents. It doesn’t matter that a person only sees you on social media, they have to see and know what you are capable of,” he said.
He also outlined how some of the DJs living in remote areas tend to drop the ball and further offered more tips on where they can improve.
