Women empowerment initiative She Matters returns today, at Happy valley, promising inspiration, networking and impactful conversation.

Women are often told to shrink themselves, remain silent or settle for less, but a new empowerment initiative by Ox Purple Consultancy seeks to challenge that narrative by creating spaces where women can grow, lead and thrive.

Dubbed ‘She Matters’, the initiative is more than just an event. According to organiser Paul Nkambule, it is a movement designed to inspire, connect, equip and empower women to become the best versions of themselves personally, professionally and socially.

Speaking about the initiative, Nkambule said She Matters was created to remind women of their value while helping them unlock their potential and gain practical tools needed to succeed in different areas of life.

“This is not only about gathering women in one room. It is about building a movement of women choosing to rise, lead, influence and create impact in society,” he said.

The 2026 edition will run under the theme ‘She Matters Too — Because She Can Do More’, a message aimed at encouraging women to embrace their abilities and step confidently into leadership, business and personal growth spaces.

This year’s edition wypill also feature guest speakers who are expected to deliver a powerful motivational talk on topics on challenges that women face and how they can position themselves.

The initiative focuses on several empowerment pillars including leadership and confidence building, entrepreneurship and innovation, financial empowerment, personal branding and emotional wellness. It also seeks to address workplace challenges, encourage collaboration and create networking opportunities among women from different industries.

Nkambule highlighted that empowering women has a ripple effect that benefits families, businesses and communities. “When women are empowered, they build stronger families, stronger businesses stronger communities and ultimately a stronger society,” he said.

Beyond motivational talks, She Matters aims to create meaningful conversations around overcoming barriers, mindset growth and building lasting influence and legacy.

The movement also intends to provide women with opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, mentors and professionals who can help them navigate both personal and professional journeys.
