HLANE – His Majesty King Mswati III officially opened the Hlane Royal Hotel yesterday.
During the ceremony, His Majesty also performed a sod-cutting for the new shopping mall set to form part of the next phase of the development, and officially named the project Nsulutane Property Development.
Her Majesty the Indlovukazi was also in attendance, as the King marked the completion of the first phase of this E200 million hospitality project, part of the Inyatsi Group Holdings property portfolio.
The hotel, developed through Construction Associates, has grown into a modern facility serving both leisure and business travellers. The project has seen consistent progress since 2022, with His Majesty attending annual milestones leading up to yesterday’s opening.
Located near key wildlife attractions and within reach of the country’s main airport, Hlane Royal Hotel offers 42 rooms comprising five executive rooms and 37 standard and family rooms. The property blends contemporary finishes with landscaped gardens and scenic views, providing comfort, while embracing the natural environment.
On-site amenities include a restaurant serving locally inspired cuisine, and a spa is scheduled for introduction in the next development phase. The hotel also features a 500-capacity multipurpose event venue and two boardrooms to support corporate and social gatherings.
The project has generated over 1 500 jobs during construction, with additional employment opportunities continuing in hospitality, administration and maintenance for the operational phase.
Local communities in and around Hlane have benefitted significantly from these opportunities.
Hlane Royal Hotel is set to drive tourism, business and social engagement in the region, while complementing national infrastructure such as the Eswatini International Convention Centre.

Pride, excitement as newly-renamed Nsulutane Property Hotel opened
HLANE – There was a strong sense of pride and excitement as people gathered at Hlane for the official opening of the newly-renamed Nsulutane Property Hotel.
This is a development that is already being described as a major step forward for the area.
The hotel, which was officially opened and renamed by His Majesty King Mswati III, stands as a clear sign of growth in a place that, for many years, had little visible development.
The event drew a crowd and was graced by the Indlovukazi, Emakhosikati and Emazinyane, who accompanied the King during a detailed tour of the facility. The tour lasted close to two and a half hours, with the King taking time to inspect each part of the hotel.
The Nsulutane Property Hotel has 42 rooms, each with its own balcony.
Inside, the rooms are designed in simple, calm colours such as beige and white, giving them a clean and comfortable feel. The beds are dressed in white cotton linen, while the curtains and furniture match the soft tone of the rooms.
The bathrooms stood out to many who attended the tour. With touches of marble and modern fittings, they added a sense of quality and care in the design. The King also inspected other parts of the hotel, including the reception area and the restaurant, which are expected to serve both local and international guests.
After the tour, the King and his entourage moved to the main event area, where the official programme took place. The atmosphere was lively, with songs and cheers from attendees. The Inyatsi Group Holdings Lutsango performed a song of appreciation with lyrics such as ‘Sibonga intfutfuko eveni lakaNgwane’, celebrating the development taking place in the country.
The hotel is a major investment, with figures ranging between E150 million and E200 million. This level of investment was said to show the seriousness of the project and its importance to the country’s economy.
Speaking during the event, Lidwala Managing Director Dr Thokozani Nkambule said the project showed what can be achieved through teamwork and commitment. He noted that the transformation of the site had happened very quickly.
“Those who saw this place just a few weeks ago would not believe what it has become today,” he said.
He added that the success of the project was due to the strong values of teamwork and efficiency upheld by Inyatsi Group Holdings, which led the development.
Tourism and Environmental Affairs Minister Jane Simelane said the hotel was an important milestone for Hlane. She pointed out that in the past, there was very little to show in terms of development in the area.
“This is a big change,” she said. “It shows that development is reaching different parts of the country.”
Prime Minister Russell Dlamini also spoke about the economic value of the hotel. He said it was in line with the King’s vision of having companies that can each generate E1 billion for the country’s economy.
“This project is part of a bigger plan to grow our economy,” he said.
The hotel is expected to play an important role during national events, especially the annual Buganu Ceremony, which takes place at the nearby Hlane Royal Residence. Its location, about 10 to 15 minutes from the King Mswati III International Airport, makes it convenient for visitors.
