MBABANE- The Eswatini Tertiary Institutions Sports Association (ETISA) has officially confirmed a 32-member delegation set to represent the nation at the upcoming CUCSA Games.
The Confederation of University and Colleges Sports Associations (CUCSA) Games will be held in Gaborone, Botswana.
This regional tournament, which serves as a beacon of sporting excellence, brings together the best student-athletes from Southern Africa, including nations such as Angola, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Eswatini.
The games are scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 5, 2026.As anticipation builds, the Eswatini squad is preparing to showcase their prowess across football and athletics.
The football contingent features a robust line-up of 18 players, while the athletics team, comprised of seven women and seven men, is ready to compete on the track and in the field.
Beyond the sheer competition, these games symbolise the unity of the region under the banner of ‘One Region, One Dream’.
The event is not only a test of physical strength but a testament to the dedication and long-term training of these young athletes who have balanced their academic responsibilities with rigorous preparation.
The atmosphere in Gaborone is expected to be charged with energy as participants compete in various disciplines, including table tennis, which is also set to take centre stage.
For the Eswatini delegation, this trip is an opportunity to prove their standing on the regional map and potentially bring home medals.
