MBABANE - Young Buffaloes once again suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat in a pulsating encounter yesterday.
This was during their fourth MTN Premier League match staged before a sizable crowd at Mayaluka Stadium. Rangers forward Hleliso ‘Muah’ Gamedze was on display and slid a quirky shot, as the play continued. This was his fourth goal in four matches. His lone strike places him in a good place to win this season’s first Player of the Month guaranteed E7 000. Meanwhile, the first round carrot winner is set to pocket E110 000.
Under the tutelage of seasoned tactician Dominic Kunene, Buffaloes boast a full-strength squad headlined by the return of marksman Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze to action after a hiatus of over a month.
They also possess a strong attack in the likes of Lizwe Zwane, Owa Matsebula with Innocent ‘Makhehleni’ Dlamini, who plays as a defensive midfielder. Furthermore, their defence features Sibonelo Sibandze, among some.
Notably, Buffaloes had suffered a deficit with the same score line against top-flight league returnees Malanti Chiefs, courtesy of Isaac Yeboah’s single goal. Their best result since the season started was a 2-0 victory against Moneni Pirates. They have also achieved two draws.
In another fixture, Manzini Sea Birds edged minnows Tabankulu Celtics 3-2 yesterday to record their second back-to-back-victory. Meanwhile, Sisonkhe were scheduled to face Sisonkhe yesterday at Mavuso Sports Centre with kick-off set for 7pm. The match was yet to start at the time of compiling this report.
