MBABANE – Royal Leopard striker Hleliso ‘Muah’ Gamedze has finished the season ranked among the top three goalscorers in the SADC region.
Gamedze delivered a masterclass in clinical finishing throughout the 2025/26 campaign, netting an impressive 18 goals to clinch the MTN Premier League Golden Boot, an achievement that entitles him to a E14 000 prize.
The former Rangers forward was the heartbeat of the police side’s attack, combining blistering pace, intelligent off-the-ball movement and a predatory instinct that kept defenders on edge from the first whistle to the last. His consistency was the highlight of the domestic season, providing moments of brilliance that not only powered Leopard into the top eight but also earned him the admiration of football purists across the region.
Gamedze’s remarkable tally places him firmly among the elite marksmen in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). With his 18 strikes, the Eswatini talisman finished tied as the second-highest scorer across the region’s premier leagues – an incredible feat that highlights the growing competitive level of the MTN Premier League.
While the global spotlight often remains fixed on the giants of Europe where Erling Haaland topped the English Premier League with 27 goals, Kylian Mbappé led Spain’s La Liga with 25, and Harry Kane reigned supreme with 36 goals in the German Bundesliga, Gamedze’s output proves that elite goalscoring prowess is alive and well right here at home.
