EZULWINI – Fresh from collecting two of the MTN Premier League’s most coveted individual honours, Royal Leopard striker Hleliso ‘Muah’ Gamedze has pledged to work even harder next season.
Gamedze emerged as one of the biggest winners during the glittering awards ceremony at the Royal Villas Hotel last night, where he scooped the Top Goalscorer Award and the maiden Players’ Player of the Season Award.
The lethal forward finished the season with 19 league goals to claim the Golden Boot and pocket E14 000, before adding another E10 000 after being voted the league’s best player by his peers. As a result, he walked away with the highest individual total of E24 000.
However, despite the double success, Gamedze insisted the accolades would not change his approach, but would rather inspire him to raise his standards.
“I would like to thank everyone who supported me throughout the season. Winning these awards will push me to give my best each time on the field. Now I have to give more than one hundred per cent,” Gamedze said.
The Royal Leopard marksman said the recognition had increased his responsibility heading into the new campaign, where his focus remains firmly on helping his side collect points.
