MATSAPHA – Royal Leopard have departed the country for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup first-leg encounter against AS Maniema Union this Saturday.

The police side were officially bade farewell at Matsapha Police College by the National Commissioner of Police (NATCOM) Vusie Manoma Masango, who challenged the team to represent the nation with courage and discipline.

“You are no longer just Leopard – you are representing Eswatini,” said NATCOM Masango. “We hope you will travel safely and perform well in the DRC. If the going gets tough, park the bus, but go there with a winning mindset. In the worst case, fight for a draw. We need mental strength and discipline — there’s no room for failure. The nation is praying for positive results.”

Head coach Edwin Matsebula said the squad was mentally and physically prepared for the continental test.

“My role is small; no matter how much I want victory, it is the players who must deliver,” Matsebula said. “We will fight a good fight and do everything at our best to win away in the DRC. We have prepared well and are ready to raise the country’s flag high.”
