MANZINI – Athletes and fitness enthusiasts have been granted a reprieve, as VOC Radio Station has announced a final registration extension for the Yesuka Twe Half Marathon.
Initially set to close this past Monday, the deadline has been shifted to Friday, May 1, 2026, giving latecomers a final opportunity to join the over 800 participants already geared up for the fifth edition of the popular race. Voice of the Church (VOC) Station Director Bishop Zachariah Mthethwa confirmed that the extension comes by popular demand, particularly to accommodate those waiting for month-end salaries.
“We want to ensure no one is left behind. This grace period is to allow all emaSwati to participate, as regular exercise is vital for our collective health,” Mthethwa stated. He issued a stern reminder, however, that no registration will be conducted on the morning of the race, making this week the absolute last window to secure a spot.
The event gets underway at 6am on Saturday, May 2, with the Zakhele Sports Ground serving as the central hub for both the start and finish lines. Participants can choose between the 5km, 10km and the gruelling 21km double-lap half-marathon.
Despite the extension, entry fees remain fixed at E130 (5km), E170 (10km) and E200 (21km). Bishop Mthethwa assured the public that preparations are at an advanced stage, promising a ‘best-in-class’ experience that exceeds the previous four iterations of the event.
