MANZINI – In a showcase of raw pace and endurance, Mancoba Sangweni and Sanelisiwe Mphaphu asserted their dominance on the tarmac yesterday after clinching the senior titles at the second edition of The Fitness Zone Charity Run in Manzini.

Sangweni delivered a masterclass in distance running by shattering the 30-minute barrier in the 10km men’s event, stopping the clock at a blistering 29:06. For Sangweni, the race served as a vital tune-up for upcoming international assignments in Lesotho.

Meanwhile, UEDF’s Mphaphu continued her fine form following her recent victory at the Epilepsy Marathon, claiming the women’s 10km crown with a commanding time of 39:01.

The podium standings reflected a highly competitive field across both the 10km and 5km distances. In the men’s 10km, Khayalethu Dlamini secured the silver medal in 31:53, showing significant improvement from his previous outing. The 5km sprint saw Musa Mamba take the top spot in 18:56, followed closely by Celumusa Dlamini. On the women’s side, Sanele Hlatshwako took the 5km honours in 27:29 with Thulile Dlamini finishing as the runner-up.
