LOBAMBA – The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) has officially announced a 17-member delegation that will represent the country at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The global games are scheduled to take place at Glasgow in Scotland from July 23 to August 2, 2026. This announcement was made by EOCGA President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa during a press conference held at the organisation’s premises in Lobamba yesterday.
It was attended by the EOCGA Board members, Victor ‘Mavikana’ Dlamini, CEO Maxwell Jele, Vice President Zakhele Dlamini and Athletics Commission Chairman Sibusiso ‘SwaziBolt’ Matsenjwa.
The team features athletes across four sporting codes, with top athletes Mlandvo Maziya, Thandaza Zwane, Bongumuzi Matsebula and Bongiwe Mahlalela representing the country in athletics under the guidance of Coach Sibusiso Matsenjwa.
The swimming squad includes Hayley Hoy, Siwakhile Dlamini and Damien DeSousa, who will be coached by Ndumiso Khoza. These are seasoned podium finishers locally and regionally.
Mukelo Dlamini and Siboniso Vilakati have been selected to compete in boxing under the leadership of coach Douglas Simelane.
Finally, former African champion Lamulela Magagula will represent the nation in judo, accompanied by Coach Mashumi Sihlongonyane.
