MBABANE – “Blessed is the hand that gives.”
This adage rings true for financial services provider Select Limited, as it has once again sponsored the Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA) with E50 000 towards the 2026 Athletics National Championships. This year’s event will be held at the Mavuso Sports Centre on March 24.
The sponsorship presentation was attended by Select Limited General Manager (GM) Sakhile Zwane, ESSA Treasurer Lucky Dlamini and Sabatha Mkhonta at the company’s premises at Matsapha Lifestyle yesterday. Also present was Select’s Sales Manager Gugu Dlamini.
Zwane revealed that the partnership between Select Limited, Eswatini and ESSA has been ongoing as even last year, they pumped the same amount towards the athletics competitions and they believe it contributed to the success of ESSA’s activities.
“It is therefore my pleasure to confirm and announce that in 2026, Select will again donate to the association and the donation amount is E50 000,” Zwane announced.
He said they hoped the sponsorship would go a long way in ensuring the association achieves its objectives for the year.
“We also trust that we shall have a long and sustainable relationship going forward, as we are all working towards ensuring a brighter future for our key stakeholders; the children,” he said.
The GM also disclosed that they always take pride in being involved in shaping the future of the communities in which they operate in by empowering the young generation, the future leaders of the country.
He said as a company, they fully understand that education is the key to a bright future for every child.
“We also fully understand that not every child will excel academically, as some of our children will shine in sports and the arts. That is why we recognise the importance of the Eswatini Schools Sports Association,” Zwane added.
Meanwhile, ESSA through Lucky, said they are grateful for the support they get from Select Limited, Eswatini and wished that the ‘marriage’ between the two entities should last forever. “We will be hosting the national championships on March 24, 2025 at the Mavuso Sports Centre,” he said.
