Ndlazi salutes Jerome for Sihlangu call-up
MBABANE – Manzini Sundowns coach Kenny Ndlazi has hailed defender Jerome Ntshalintshali for his inclusion in the Sihlangu team to face Congo next month.
The ecstatic South Africa born mentor commenting after his team’s 1-0 win over Royal Leopards on Wednesday night, said the aim was to supply the national squads with more players this season.
“It’s good for Jerome to earn a call-up and that adds up to the three players who are in the Under-23 squad. This season we want to supply more players to the national team,” he said. Sundowns won a fast flowing, tightly contested affair over the police side at Somhlolo National Stadium.
Debutant striker Nicholas Carrington scored the winner with 17 minutes to go and two minutes after coming in for Mxolisi ‘Mcombotsi’ Dludla. However, Ndlazi said they were still looking for a big man upfront to relieve the burden off the shoulders of Zimbabwean forward Jacob Muzokomba.
“I think we played well today, and the tough games have helped us improve our game. I am happy with what we have achieved so far, even though we are still to reach our peak,” he said.
The win took the Kappa Boys to the second spot in the league with seven points. They have an inferior goal difference to joint leaders, Mbabane Swallows.
