Weslians performance thrills supporters
MANZINI – Manzini Wanderers’ supporters have expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance so far this season.
In a meeting held at Bosco Skills Centre yesterday, the supporters concurred that the team has played well in all its matches, and noted that the only problem was with goals, as opportunities were availed but some forces prevented goals.
This was a surprising reaction from the ‘Weslians’ as their team has only won once in five league matches. The have drawn the rest of their matches. Wanderers supporters are famous for demanding results irrespective of the situation.
Chairman of the Management Committee (MC), Reuben ‘Rhoo’ Nxumalo said as the MC, they also felt the team had done well.
"The teams we have drawn with are not teams we usually beat. It is on this basis that we share the same view that the team has done well. With a little more time and patience, we will start getting the necessary results," he said.
The supporters emphasised on vigorous off the field solutions to the goal-scoring problems. They tasked the MC to do whatever it takes to ensure that the team starts scoring goals as it was clear that was the only problem at the moment.
Chairman of the Supporters’ Committee, Simanga Tsabedze urged supporters to buy the team’s replicas, which were now available with various individuals, including Ncane Makhanya. He said this was crucial in sustaining the team throughout the season.
