MBABANE – Local golfer Evart Madlopha was over the weekend crowned winner of the Wafa Wafa golf tournament.
The tournament, sponsored by the B3 group of companies, was played at the Royal Swazi Sun and pitted local and South African golfers.

Madlopha netted 39 points and was followed closely by lady golfer Vicky Maluka from South Africa with 38 points, who also dominated in the ladies category in the King’s Cup.
The tournament was dominated by South African golfers who also took part in the King’s Cup played last week.

Score

Swaziland was however beaten by their South African counter-parts in the overall score as they went down 264-269.
Organiser of the tournament and also sponsor, Dan Zikalala from B3, said he was very happy with local players’ performance.

He said they were however let down by local golfers as quite a number of them could not make it in time for the tournament which contributed to their loss to the South Africans.
He said even though they were the sole sponsors for the tournament this years they would be scouting for more to contribute towards the tourney next year.
