MBABANE – The Member of Parliament for Hhukwini Inkhundla, Alec Lushaba, has urged the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) to consider constructing a technical centre in the area.
Lushaba made the plea during the prize-giving and new sponsorship launch for the Sibebe Resort Hhukwini League, held at Sigwaca House on Wednesday. The legislator even offered EFA CEO Frederick Mngomezulu a piece of land for the construction of the centre.
Mngomezulu was among the guests who attended the event, alongside the Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) Chairman Dr Comfort Shongwe and various team representatives. Lushaba noted that the EFA had recently constructed a technical centre at Mkhuzweni, Northern Hhohho, and pleaded with the organisation to build a similar facility in his constituency.
“The Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs has promised to construct something for us, so the EFA can then improve it to a technical centre,” Lushaba said.
The MP went on to congratulate the teams for participating in numerous competitions, including the Sibebe Resort tournament, which was won by Vusweni United. The champions were presented with E6 000, while the runners-up, Sibuyeni, received E4 000.
