MBABANE – The Central Bank of Eswatini raised E1.877 billion through Government Bonds during the 2025/26 financial year, exceeding its initial E1.4 billion target by 34 per cent.

The strong performance reflects sustained investor demand for government securities, with the Bank highlighting Government Bonds as a secure, long-term investment option for growing capital.

Government Bonds issued in the domestic market have maturities ranging from three to 20 years and are considered to carry the lowest risk among domestic investment options.

Individuals can participate in the bond market by submitting bids starting from as little as E10,000, while competitive bids start at E5 million.

The Central Bank has encouraged investors to consider Government Bonds as part of their long-term investment portfolios, citing their security and maturity periods as key features.

The E1.877 billion raised during the financial year represents an additional E477 million above the original target, highlighting the level of demand for government debt instruments.
