About Us

Founded in 1897, the Times of Eswatini is the Kingdom’s oldest and most established newspaper. Originally launched as the Times of Swaziland by Allister Mitchel Miller, the publication has documented the nation’s history for well over a century, evolving alongside Eswatini while remaining committed to credible, independent and public interest journalism.

Today, the Times of Eswatini is a leading multimedia news organisation, delivering trusted coverage of national and international news, politics, business, finance, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, culture and community affairs. Through its print publications and digital platforms, the organisation serves readers across Eswatini and the wider region.

The Times of Eswatini publishes a portfolio of respected titles, including Times of Eswatini, Eswatini News, Times Sunday, and What’s Happening Eswatini, providing readers with comprehensive news and information throughout the week.

According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for the first quarter of 2026, the Times of Eswatini recorded a paid circulation of 6,668 copies, with no free distribution. This made it the highest-selling paid daily newspaper in the region among several comparable Southern African titles, demonstrating the strength of its loyal readership despite operating in a country of approximately 1.2 million people.

Beyond journalism, the Times of Eswatini is actively involved in community development through initiatives that bring people together. In 2026, the organisation successfully launched the inaugural Times Half Marathon, attracting more than 1,600 participants and reinforcing its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, community engagement and national pride.

The Times of Eswatini’s digital platforms continue to expand their reach, attracting hundreds of thousands of readers each month from Eswatini and around the world. Through its website, mobile platforms and social media channels, the organisation delivers breaking news and in-depth reporting to audiences wherever they are, making it one of the Kingdom’s leading digital news destinations.

Guided by the principles of accuracy, fairness and accountability, the Times of Eswatini remains dedicated to informing the nation, holding institutions accountable, and telling the stories that matter most to the people of Eswatini.
