SIDVOKODVO – The second edition of the Ocean Summer Vibes elevated groove culture locally as patrons partied for over 15 hours.
The show kicked off on Saturday with the first artist taking to the decks at 2pm. Ocean Summer Vibes’ star-studded line-up kept the crowd moving and the atmosphere charged with music and dance.
From the soulful sounds of Artwork Sounds and Kelvin Momo to the high-energy sets of Pcee, Danya Devs, Empro, Blxckie, DJ Maphorisa and Zaba, the acts brought their distinct sounds to the Sidvokodvo gathering. They gave revellers plenty of reasons to stay on their feet and soak up the summer atmosphere.
The first international act that blessed the crowd was South African duo Artwork Sounds with their relaxing sounds. Pcee also gave the crowd what they had been yearning for as he jumped onto the stage with massive energy, showing off wild dance skills. His set was one of the many highlights of an unforgettable evening filled with top-tier African entertainment. Kelvin Momo took over the decks at the second edition of Ocean Summer Vibes in the early hours of Sunday morning, serving up a vibrant Private School Amapiano set that kept the energy high and the crowd in the moment. The DJ and producer brought his signature sound to the event, giving revellers a taste of the soulful beats that have made him a firm fan favourite.
Danya Devs also rocked the crowd with his banger ‘Ola Sbali’ that sent the entire audience into a frenzy, singing the song’s chorus and verses from A to Z. Danya also brought out Empro onto the stage with him during his performance, giving the local crowd the first live performance of ‘Polo’. “One day later and y’all already know the song back to back, thank you Eswatini,” captioned the rising star on his social media pages.
DJ Maphorisa did not come to the show alone as he surprised the crowd with vocalist Zaba, adding more international musicians to the line-up. Zaba sang for the crowd giving them chills as his appearance was not expected.
Hip Hop sensation Blxckie gave the crowd his all on the stage as his entrance song ‘Kwenzekile’ got the crowd screaming from the top of their voices. The rapper’s all-time favourite track, ‘Hold’, was his last track on the stage and the crowd reaction was emotional. Amapiano vocalist Thatohatsi was the last South African headliner to get onto the stage at 6am, with no difference in the number of attendees.
The annual gathering at Sidvokodvo Riders Ranch continues to establish itself as a premier destination for music lovers. Attendees were treated to a seamless blend of Deep House, Hip Hop and Amapiano throughout the night. The crowd sang along to every beat, ensuring the energy never dropped from start to finish.
