In the final showdowns, the Phonjwane boys claimed their title by defeating Sigcineni with a score of 17-10. Meanwhile, the Siphofaneni girls dominated their match against Sigcineni, securing a decisive 21-10 victory to take home the trophy.

Reflecting on the success of the tournament, which featured 14 schools from the regional level, Eswatini Handball Eswatini (EHA) President Delisile Manyatsi shared her pride in the young athletes. “I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Phonjwane High School for emerging as the boys’ champions and Siphofaneni High School for being crowned the girls’ champions,” she stated.

Manyatsi further highlighted the positive impact of the games, noting: “Your commitment, passion, and sportsmanship made this year’s competition a great success”.

She also extended her gratitude to the Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA), match officials, and volunteers for their tireless efforts in ensuring the tournament’s success.

Looking toward the future, the president encouraged more schools to join the movement, emphasising that ‘Handball is a sport that promotes teamwork, discipline, respect and healthy competition’.
