MANZINI – With Eswatini having a buzz of activity over the past weekend, families were outside!
Some attending the final day of the Reed Dance on Monday, others were having a good time at the third day of the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF). The third day of the EITF had everyone in for a great time with a vast line-up of genres for the music heads and a number of gaming activities for the little ones. The entertainment gates opened from as early as 10am to begin the day’s bustling activities that set the spinning arena with some fun. Local MC, Sintour was the life of the party as he managed to keep the crowd vibrant throughout the entire day.
Local DJs also brought their A-game to the decks as they commanded the audience ensuring that they sang every chorus word for word. The Qwabe twins, who were spotted at the reed dance the day before, also ignited the attendees with their lively music. The twins were among the performers who took to the stage during the ongoing trade fair, adding a musical touch to the public holiday programme. Their appearance came shortly after they were spotted attending Umhlanga on Saturday, giving them an opportunity to experience one of Eswatini’s biggest cultural celebrations before returning to the stage for EITF audiences. Their presence at Umhlanga also placed them among visitors from outside Eswatini who were able to witness the annual ceremony, while their EITF performance gave local audiences another opportunity to see the South African duo perform live. South African music industry icon, DJ Tira came on to the stage shortly after the Qwabe twins’ performance, giving the crowd more life as he was received with warm screams and routine dance moves. The DJ’s return comes as EITF 2026 continues towards its September 6 closing date, with the fair attracting visitors through its combination of commercial activities and entertainment. Tira’s back-to-back appearances also show how quickly artists can reconnect with Eswatini audiences, particularly when their previous performances leave a strong enough appetite for another round.
