MBABANE – A new chapter unfolds!
After considerable contention, the patrons of Mbabane Highlanders AM FC have decisively triumphed in the leadership dispute with Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane.
According to an insider familiar with the matter, the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) was compelled to consult South African director Ally Kgomongwe to ascertain the legality of Musa Masuku, the patron secretary, endorsing Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane. Kgomongwe stated that it was unlawful for Masuku to appoint Simelane as director of the club, as Kgomongwe himself was the legitimate director.
No choice but to accept
The source revealed that PLE had no choice but to accept Kgomongwe’s assertion and subsequently implemented the necessary amendments.
Fortune ‘Sdika’ Nxumalo will now assume the role of the Premier League of Eswatini Board of Governors (BoGs) representative for Highlanders.
Further reports indicate that the registrar of companies has officially transferred ownership from Kgomongwe to Nxumalo. Nxumalo is poised to become the public face of Mbabane Highlanders AM FC, while the new President, Shauwn Mkhize, will oversee the club’s operations.
Prior to this upheaval, Simelane was registered as the club’s President for the forthcoming season. It was alleged that for Mkhize to assume control, she would need to compensate ‘Rubber’. However, Mkhize did not fulfil the purported compensation demand, reportedly set at E1 million.
When contacted for comment, patron Charlies ‘Ace’ Jele confirmed the developments.
