MBABANE – Shaka iLembe’s Director of Photography (DP), Sandile Makhanya, will be hosting a video production and photography skills workshop in partnership with the United States of America (USA) Embassy.
According to the USA Embassy, they are inviting content creators, entrepreneurs and storytellers to participate in the workshop, which will take place at the American Corner in Manzini on Friday, August 15. The event is scheduled to begin at 9am and conclude at 12 noon. Interested individuals can register via the US Embassy’s social media pages, particularly on Facebook, through an active registration link. They can also scan the QR code attached to the poster shared across social media platforms.
Makhanya stated that the workshop aims to ensure that emaSwati are equipped with the necessary tools to communicate effectively and make an impact in the industry. “There is a new saying, which states that a new document is a documentary, which in layman’s terms means that photography, media, design and filmmaking are all vital ways to communicate, from boardroom presentations to marketing and communication in general.
Photography and videography are the way forward, and I would like to thank the USA Embassy for initiating this initiative, ensuring that young people and emaSwati are equipped to communicate confidently in this industry and the news space,” Makhanya said.
