MBABANE – Doctor Nkosingiphile Kunene, a Golden Foot Club member, was celebrated for completing her 10th Comrades Marathon at the 14th edition of the KwaMagogo Legacy Race.

The milestone, achieved on June 8, 2025, held a special significance as she recorded a personal best of 10:43 hours.

“I’ve completed 10 consecutive Comrades Marathons with a 100 per cent success rate since my first in 2015. This year’s race was particularly memorable because I trained rigorously to mark my 10th finish, earning my green number and achieving my fastest time yet,” Kunene shared.

Reflecting on her journey, Kunene described the Comrades Marathon as ‘the ultimate human race,’ emphasising the dedication required.

“It demands intense training. The race itself is the culmination of months of preparation,” she said.

Initially drawn to running for its health benefits, Kunene’s passion grew through solidarity with fellow runners, sparking her curiosity about the Comrades Marathon.

“After my first attempt in 2015, I vowed never to return. But by the second year, I was determined to complete a back-to-back. By my third and fourth races, I set my sights on reaching my 10th ,” she admitted.
