MBABANE – Mbali Dlamini, a South African content creator and TikTok sensation, has thrown her weight behind Eswatini duo N Kay and Smally’s latest release, ‘Langa Lami’.
Dlamini shared a short video on TikTok singing to the new single featuring the duo’s sound, which has garnered over 2 800 views on YouTube since its release on Friday night.
The song, which translates to ‘my time to succeed’, is more than just a track – it’s a personal mantra for the duo.
In a candid interview, N Kay of the Eswatini duo N Kay & Smally, opened up about the inspiration behind their latest single, ‘Langa Lami’. The song is more than just a catchy tune – it’s a reflection of the duo’s lived experiences and the struggles faced by many artists in Eswatini. “We’ve been through ups and downs, not just as N Kay & Smally, but as part of the Eswatini music community,” N Kay shared.
The duo has faced scepticism and challenges, even from those they expected to support them. This reality is poignantly captured in the lyrics, with the line ‘Lasiphuma Khona Kukabhari Kayi Believe’ serving as a powerful reminder of their resilience. The title ‘Langa Lami’, which translates to ‘My Time to Succeed’, embodies the hope and determination that have fueled their journey.
N Kay emphasised that timing is crucial in life and success, and the song encourages listeners to trust the process. “The message is universal: Just believe in yourself, even when it feels like the world is moving slowly. It’s about finding strength in patience and knowing that your breakthrough is on the way,” he explained.
