MALKERNS – The final day of the MTN Bushfire Festival was filled with nothing but energetic vibes as the Ndlovu Youth Choir commanded the daytime stage.
Performing at the festival for the second time this year, the choir said they are always delighted to be received with such love and energy from the crowd.
Artistic director and conductor Ralf Schmitt kept the audience energised, hyping up the crowd each time the choir transitioned between songs and preparing them to dance along. He leads the Ndlovu Youth Choir’s signature sound, which blends traditional South African choral music such as isicathamiya with modern pop. Schmitt also directed the choir during their highly acclaimed appearances on America’s Got Talent.
The choir’s blend of Amapiano tracks sent the audience into a frenzy. They incorporated popular piano dance moves, connecting with the crowd in an even more vibrant showcase. Fans sang along and mirrored the choreography, turning the main arena into a sea of movement.
Festivalgoers praised the performance for its infectious spirit and polished harmonies, cementing the choir’s reputation as a daytime highlight. For many, the set was a defining moment of Bushfire 2026, proving the group’s ability to bridge cultures through rhythm and song.
