MBABANE – Nomzamo ‘Zamo’ Dlamini, a celebrated singer, songwriter, actress and make-up artist, has officially been nominated for the Basadi in Music Awards under the Make-up Artist of the Year Category.

The nod comes hot on the heels of a massive milestone for the entertainer, who recently added a major continental accolade to her growing list of achievements.

On June 20, 2026, ‘Zamo’ was honoured at the Africa Under 40 CEOs Summit and Honors, held at the upscale The Capital on The Park Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Speaking about the nomination in the Basadi in Music Awards, Zamo mentioned that winning would be an affirmation that everything she have done in the industry as a make up artist has been worth it.

“It would also shine on the many young women that i have the privilege to mentor that it’s possible and your dreams are valid,” she said.

Zamo has done make up to South African celebrities including the late Gospel artist Sfiso Ncwane 2015, Zaza Mokhethi live recording 2017, Mtee music video 2018 and Itumeleng Khune Dan up advert shoot 2019.

The Africa Under 40 CEOs Honors celebrates exceptional young African business leaders, entrepreneurs, executives and innovators under the age of 40 who are driving meaningful change across the continent through leadership, innovation, community service and business excellence.

Announcing her achievement, the awards’ official Instagram page praised her visionary drive: “Congratulations, Zamo Dlamini, on this remarkable achievement. Your story, your journey and your influence deserve to be celebrated. We are honoured to recognise individuals who are not only building successful careers and businesses, but also creating meaningful change across the continent.”

Zamo described the continental recognition as both a humbling and validating milestone in her career.

“It’s truly an honour, for me when you start a business, most of the time, you are simply doing something you love while hoping to make a positive impact in people’s lives. My business has always been about making people feel beautiful, both inside and out” she said.

She elaborated that when the nomination came through, she was overwhelmed because it was taking place in South Africa, but representing Eswatini made it even more special.

“Living a life that impacts others is very affirming because it tells you that you’re on the right path.”

Despite her current wave of success, Zamo admitted that building her brand has been a test of resilience. Having operated professionally since 2015, she has lent her brush to some of the biggest names in African music, including Gospel icon Benjamin Dube.

With a fresh Basadi Awards nomination now under her belt, Zamo continues to prove that she is not just an entertainer, but a formidable creative force and business leader to watch across the African continent.
