Swaziland Building Society (SBS) continues to be a leader in home loans finance, for both urban and rural areas. 

Known, celebrated and respected over the years for assisting many emaSwati realise the dream to own homes, the Society continues to provide affordable home loan products.

SBS Senior Mortgages Officer Phindokuhle Dlamini reveals that the demand for this facility continues to grow. She said it is the Society’s aim to ensure that their customers who demand this facility are always assisted.

Dlamini went on to add that this facility was available for building homes in urban and rural areas. It is also available for those who wish to purchase already-constructed houses, in both urban and rural areas. All these come with flexible repayment periods of up to 25 years.

These aspects make the SBS Home Loan facility user friendly, an attractive flexible repayment period and the provision of employer-facilitated schemes.

Dlamini outlined application requirements as follows:

  • Current payslip
  • Deed of sale for urban properties
  • Certified copy of Eswatini identity document
  • Certified proof of residence
  • Confirmation of employment
  • Property valuation report
  • Bank statement

Over and above the finance, SBS always encourages customers to insure their properties for complete peace of mind under the House-Owner’s Insurance.

“The borrower has right to choose the insurer intermediary with whom he shall conclude a contract of insurance to cover the property,” she said. The available property insurance products are:

House Owners’ Insurance Cover: Is a policy that protects you financially if something happens to your home.

Mortgage Protection Policy: Is an insurance designed to protect both you and your family in case something unexpected happens while you still owe on your home loan.

House Contents Insurance: It covers loss or damage to the contents of a building such as electronical appliances, furniture.
