Siphofaneni was anything but quiet this past weekend, as the valley filled with the unmistakable growl, purr and crackle of VW engines.

More n More Lodge hosted the much-anticipated VW Camp Fest, a turbo-charged gathering that drew around 300 Volkswagen machines and nearly 600 enthusiasts, transforming the lodge into a village of chrome, canvas and pure car culture.

From Friday to Sunday, the lodge pulsated like a festival drum, every corner humming with people, music and the steady camaraderie that VW lovers seem to generate effortlessly.

Friday saw convoys rolling into Siphofaneni, headlights dancing against the dusk as tents sprang up across the campsite. Attendees gathered around campfires, swapping stories, inspecting each other’s rides and soaking in the easy warmth that comes when people share the same passion. It was the soft start to a powerhouse weekend.

Saturday exploded into action. At sunrise, the morning run traced through the lodge, engines stretching awake in a playful rumble. Then came aerobics, a surprising but much-loved addition, because why not balance horsepower with human power?

The day bloomed into the much-anticipated stance show, where cars posed lowered, polished and gleaming with personality. The day went on with a scent of a massive braai and the occasional thunder of pops and bangs echoing across the area. The swimming pool also became a cool retreat for attendees.

On Sunday, the mood softened as soulful music wrapped the grounds in a relaxed groove as people enjoyed inhloko (cow head meat) bringing a taste of tradition to the celebration. By afternoon, engines warmed up again, this time for departure, each car rolling out of the lodge.

“The weekend was great, we made sure the security was tight, the cleaning crew kept the place spotless, the pool was sparkling, toilets clean and the food was good. The cars, wow, the cars were amazing,” mentioned Event Organiser Brazo.

A well-supported fest

  • The event was powered by generous sponsors who kept the wheels spinning and the guests refreshed:
  • EBet
  • JAC Motors
  • Light Home Care Services (providing First Aid service)
  • Eswatini Mobile
  • Atwa Waters (fuelling hydration with water and ice)
  • Eswatini MTN

Brazo went on to express gratitude and excitement, saying, “We are looking forward to a bigger and better event, scheduled for November 27 to 29, 2026.”
