MBABANE – Eswatini content creators keep proving that consistency in their craft pays off.

Sanele Lushaba, who has gained popularity on social media streets through sharing funny skits daily, got an invite to one of South Africa’s most listened to Radio stations, Ligwalagwala FM on their programme titled Content Creators Corner.

In an interview with Lushaba, he shared his content creation journey and how he managed to score himself an interview.

“I started being a content creator mainly to glue the audience on my social media networks.

This came after a lengthy time of trying to introduce myself on what I professionally do as both a voice over artist and actor, which is producing radio and TV adverts,” he said.

Lushaba added that he has noticed that people on social media rarely watch formal videos.

“The best way to capture the masses’ attention on social media is never being too serious, as people are always interested in comedy and fun. This triggered my approach on the style of marketing, hence the content you see every day which will drive you to my work,” he said.

The funny man shared that he was contacted by Simphiwe Hlabangane, the Host of Sakha Sive on Ligwalagwala FM with reference to his recent trending videos on TikTok. “That interview was very insightful to me as a creator, it also requested my background view on being a content creator and how I realised my craft, which is quite simple, as I love social media and people are always posting, which is where I find my inspiration and turning serious situations into a joke,” he said. The content creator currently makes a living through his clients who hire him for his voice-over services on their adverts.

Lushaba said that he is hoping that the content of Eswatini creators get to be monetised soon, as others are making millions from it in neighbouring countries. “I have had conversations with other content creators about the fact that Eswatini is generally not yet an eligible country for Facebook’s directs monetisation programmes. As it came to my attention that not only  content creators from abroad, but also in our neighbouring country, South Africa, content creators are being paid big while our country is left behind. I believe that our local creators are not only creative, but brilliant as well, when the time for monetisation knocks, we will also make a killing and hope that our content creators benefit from that improvement,” he said.
