MBABANE – Nsingizini Hotspurs Ladies will have to wait longer to learn their opponents for the upcoming international assignment.
The Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) has postponed the draw for the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League/COSAFA Qualifier. It was initially set for Wednesday, July 22, but will now take place on August 4, in Gaborone, Botswana, according to correspondence from Media Manager Lynda Greeff.
Hotspurs secured their place after a double league win over Young Buffaloes. The tournament itself has also been rescheduled and will now run from August 20-29 in Gaborone.
The final line-up is yet to be confirmed following the CAF deadline of July 15 for Member Associations to submit club licensing documentation. Nsingizini Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mnotfo Dlamini confirmed that the club met the deadline.
The squad has been boosted by the return of Nthabeleng Potsane from Lesotho Defence Force, while former Young Buffaloes player Nonjabuliso ‘Shimi’ Mokgale is also reported to have joined.
The winners of the COSAFA qualifier will progress to the CAF Women’s Champions League finals later this year. Gaborone United are the reigning COSAFA champions, having won the title in 2025.
