MBABANE- A lifelong admiration for Kaizer Chiefs turned into a cherished memory when Manzini FA boss Vusie ‘Mavura’ Hall finally met Khama Billiat.
This was a big moment for Hall, who is a big Amakhosi supporter. They met in Johannesburg on Sunday, July 26. Scottland FC, where Billiat and Eswatini international defender Kwakhe ‘Stopper’ Thwala play, faced Chiefs for the 2026 Toyota Cup. Amakhosi won 1-0, courtesy of Mfundo ‘Obrigado’ Vilakazi’s first-half goal. Billiat and Thwala featured in the second-half which produced no goals.
Hall is in South Africa for the three-day Confederation of African Football (CAF) Safe Stadium Initiative training programme. It will be staged in Johannesburg, South Africa, from July 27–29 as part of continued efforts to strengthen safety and security standards at football venues. The Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) chairman is representing Eswatini. He doubles as Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Safety and Security Committee Chairman.
As per Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA), the workshop brings together participants for a combination of classroom-based learning, scenario discussions and practical stadium exercises designed to enhance the planning and delivery of safe football events.
The programme is led by safety and security instructors Ababacar Sene, Alan Khakame and Katharina Steinberg.
The opening day will begin with welcome remarks and a keynote address, followed by an address from CAF Head of Safety and Security Dr Christian Emeruwa.
The first sessions will examine the safety and security challenges faced across Africa, as well as the CAF Safety and Security Regulations that guide the organisation of matches and competitions on the continent.
