MANZINI – Philani Maswati Charity Organisation has officially announced that the 11th edition of the Biggest Braai Weekend will be held on July 24,  2027 while simultaneously launching a E200 Smart Membership Card.

The smart card is designed to strengthen fundraising efforts and reward supporters through exclusive business partnerships. The twin announcements were made by Philani Maswati Charity Chairman Lutfo Dlamini during a gathering at Pizza Club yestraday, where he reflected on the success of this year’s Biggest Braai Weekend and unveiled the organisation’s latest fundraising initiative. Dlamini said preparations for next year’s Biggest Braai had already begun following what he described as the most successful edition of the annual event, which attracted significantly larger crowds than previous years.

He thanked emaSwati for their overwhelming support, saying the event continues to grow into one of the country’s biggest social and charitable gatherings.

“The support from the nation has been incredible. Looking at the numbers, attendance was much higher this year and we are grateful that the event was peaceful and concluded without any serious crimes being reported,” said Dlamini. He said the success of the event had given the organisation confidence to begin planning early for the 11th edition, which will take place on July 24, 2027.

According to Dlamini, the annual Biggest Braai is no longer just a recreational event but has become an important platform for promoting community unity, encouraging charitable giving and raising funds to support Philani Maswati Charity’s humanitarian programmes.

He said the organisation expected next year’s event to attract even more participants and corporate partners as it continued to expand its impact within communities. During the same event, Dlamini unveiled the Philani Maswati Charity Smart Membership Card, describing it as a sustainable fundraising model that would enable the organisation to generate income throughout the year while giving value back to its supporters.

The Smart Membership Card, which costs E200, has been introduced through a partnership with Sky Digital, the company responsible for designing and developing the digital membership platform.

Dlamini said the card would be valid for one year and would provide members with exclusive rewards and discounts from participating businesses while supporting the organisation’s charitable work.
