LOBAMBA – Big Zulu captained Hip Hop FC to glory as the South African outfit defeated Eswatini’s Kingdom Celebrity Club (KCC) 2-1 in a thrilling celebrity football showdown.

The pulsating encounter was staged before a sizeable crowd at Somhlolo National Stadium yesterday. Big Zulu led from the front throughout the entertaining encounter as Hip Hop FC claimed the inaugural bragging rights against their Eswatini counterparts before an enthusiastic crowd. Ahead of the match, he was spotted sharing a light moment with the KCC skipper Young Zesh.

Meanwhile, Shenko Trivius and Siya Shezi scored the decisive goals for the visitors, while DJ Zulu D netted KCC’s only goal in the closely contested affair.

The teams served up an entertaining spectacle from the opening whistle, creating chances at both ends while combining football with star power.

KCC looked lively in attack during the first half, with Sgitha waMa2000 and DJ Ayacity causing problems through their pace and skill. Hip Hop FC responded with dangerous attacks of their own, led by Lindough, Sweet Guluva and captain Big Zulu.

One of the standout moments before the interval was the entertaining one-on-one battle between DJ Ayacity and Sweet Guluva, with both enjoying memorable moments that kept supporters on their feet.

Regardless, the sides went into the break goalless after an evenly matched opening 45 minutes.

However, the visitors raised the tempo after the restart, with Trivius breaking the deadlock before Siya Shezi doubled the advantage. Although DJ Zulu D pulled one back for KCC, the home side could not find an equaliser as Hip Hop FC held on to seal victory.

South African music star Sjava also arrived at the venue ahead of the fixture, but later left before the match concluded.
