EZULWINI – House music heads were treated to a burning line-up on Friday at the Happy Valley Hotel.
Local entertainment, Swazi Boy hosted a tribute to house music on Friday which was second day of their 20th anniversary celebrations. Mthunzi ‘Shadow’ Zwane said the tribute was an event hosted to appreciate each and every person who has supported the stable from it’s first event. “I am deeply grateful to our partners, media and sponsors who have held our hand through it all. The industry is alive and kicking because of you guys,” he said. The Friday tribute saw local House music DJs giving the crowd what they were looking for as DJ, Crooks and Mafaka set the tone with a chilled set that had everyone swaying side to side.
Next on the decks was the legendary pair, DJ Christos and Vinny Da Vinci who captured the fun lovers’ attention, giving the House heads a reason to carefully listen to their set.
South African versatile DJ Sabz also took to the right after the house duo giving the crowd a different feel for another genre, particularly Private School Amapiano. Sabz served world class piano music also maintaining the same crowd. The night’s final act and highlight of the second day celebrations was DJ Fresh’s set. The DJ had not come alone as he was accompanied by a band member who stunned the handful crowd. The hype of their set came when they played ‘Take Me to My Love’ that the entire crowd erupted into a spectacular sing-along, ending the night beautifully.
