MANZINI – Manzini Wanderers have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the signing of Young Buffaloes goalkeeper Sicelo Mkhwanazi.
Mkhwanazi joins the NFD leaders as they reinforce their squad following a strong start to the season, with the goalkeeper expected to compete for a starting place alongside Marion Jamine and Fisokuhle Shongwe.
Wanderers Communications Manager Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini confirmed that the club had secured Mkhwanazi’s services, but declined to disclose details of the contract.
“It is true he has joined and we won’t get into details of his contract and length of his stay at the team. All I can say is that we want to do the talking on the field of play and invite our supporters to support the team,” said Dlamini.
Mkhwanazi, who was with Young Buffaloes before making the move, brings experience from the elite level to a Wanderers side that has won its opening two MulaSport National First Division matches.
The move further strengthens Wanderers’ squad as they seek an immediate return to the elite league.
Meanwhile, Young Buffaloes left-back Fanelo ‘Order’ Mamba has reportedly joined Red Rhinos, while former Mankayane United and Moneni Pirates player Mfanzile ‘Fash’ Ndiamadze has moved to Sisonke.
Nkwene Sundowns have also signed former Mbabane Swallows right-back Xolani ‘Tyson’ Magagula.
Royal Leopard players Sifiso Matse and Sikhumbuzo Magagula have reportedly been asked to consider joining clubs of their choice.
