MBABANE – Eswatini’s sporting leadership has taken centre stage in Zimbabwe this week, driving the crucial conversation on inclusivity and athlete welfare across Southern Africa.
The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) made its presence felt at the ANOCA Zone VI Gender Equity and Diversity (GED) Forum, held in the stunning setting of Victoria Falls between June 2-5, 2026.
Representing the Kingdom was Pearl Dlamini, the Head of the Gender Equity Commission, alongside EOCGA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Maxwell Jele.
Attending in his capacity as the ANOCA Zone VI Secretary General, Jele delivered a pivotal presentation outlining how Olympic Solidarity funding can act as a catalyst for achieving the region’s diversity objectives.
The high-stakes forum united National Olympic Committees and regional stakeholders, all tasked with a vital mission: Strengthening commitments to gender equality, safe sport, women’s leadership and robust athlete welfare.
In an era where inclusive participation is no longer optional but essential, the summit marks a definitive line in the sand for African sport.
A key highlight of the summit saw Dlamini and Jele meet with Zimbabwe’s Deputy Minister for Sport, Elmely Jesaya.
