MBABANE – You reap what you sow!
This adage sound true for the best-performing pupils in the 2026 KFC Scara Thindwa Soccer Foundation, who will be rewarded with match tickets to watch South African giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs clash in the famed Soweto Derby.
The Soweto Derby, widely regarded as one of the biggest fixtures in South African and African football, will take place at the iconic FNB Stadium on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Match tickets sold out within hours of release.
Scara Thindwa Soccer Foundation Project Administrator Nosipho Vilakati revealed that the special development trip to Johannesburg is scheduled for Friday, October 30 to Sunday, November 1, 2026.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to youth development and football excellence, we will be travelling with some of the best-performing players and coaches from the KFC tournament held earlier this year,” Vilakati said.
She explained that the exposure trip aims to give the young talents a taste of a high-level professional football environment while fuelling their passion for the game.
“On October 31, the group will attend the Betway Premiership clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium. It is an experience designed to motivate the players and offer meaningful insight into the professional game,” Vilakati added.
Last year, the foundation took a cohort of pupils and teachers to Mbombela Stadium, where they witnessed a hard-fought draw between TS Galaxy and Kaizer Chiefs.
