EZULWINI– South African businesswoman and former Royal AM Boss, Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize firmly takes charge of Mbabane Highlanders AM FC, urging unity and outlining a bold vision for the club.

Addressing the Highlanders AM FC faithful at CODEC Hall yesterday during the unveiling, newly-appointed President Mkhize unequivocally asserted her leadership, declaring a firm stance against internal divisions and appealing for unwavering unity.

“I know that you have factions, but in this instance, I appeal that we unite because we have one common goal: to be the biggest and most feared brand in Eswatini,” she stated with conviction.

Crucially, Mkhize clarified the role of Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane, stating: “I have never had a problem with Simelane.” She confirmed discussions with him, adding, “He does not want to be at the forefront of the team. I was giving him an opportunity if he still wanted to be part of the team, but Simelane will be supporting me in everything.”

This statement firmly establishes her sole leadership while acknowledging Simelane’s continued, albeit behind-the-scenes, involvement. In recent reports it was not clear whether they will run the team together because Simelane was the director before ‘MaMkhize’ came on board. Simelane is still registered as Director and Governor at the Premier League of Eswatini. However, that would soon change as Simelane is expected to hand over the reins to Mamkhize’s representative.

Mkhize was emphatic about her commitment to integrity and building the Highlanders brand. “Please trust me as you love me; please understand that I want to lead with integrity, and I am here not to destroy but to build this Highlanders brand,” she urged. She revealed that during her previous visit, she had observed divisions within the team and had actively sought to broker peace among aggrieved parties, stressing her deep belief in unity.
