Amawele ……………….0

R. Leopard ……………4

Junior 8th, Simanga 36th, Felix 46th, Hleliso 75th

MBABANE – Oh, the sheer, unadulterated relief of a giant awakened! For four long weeks, Royal Leopard had wandered through a winless wilderness, their roar reduced to a whisper. However, here at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground, the drought didn’t just break—it shattered.

It was a day where the pedigree of the police side finally met the pavement in an emphatic 4-0 demolition of an Amawele side that had previously proven to be a stubborn thorn in their side.

The symphony of redemption began early in the eighth minute as Mancoba Maseko swung in a cross of pure invitation, met by the rising brow of Junior Magagula to make it 1-0.

Even when the script flickered with the forced withdrawal of the injured Mlamuli Makhaya, Leopard’s resolve remained ironclad.

By the 36th minute, referee Thulani Sibandze was pointing to the spot after Hleliso Gamedze was felled in the area. Simanga Masangane stepped up with the ice-cold composure of a marksman, sending Bhekisisa Sikhondze the wrong way to double the advantage.

The second half was, but a breath old when the legendary Felix Badenhorst lurked at the back post to tap home a third, effectively turning the contest into a coronation. Amawele searched for a pulse through Lindokuhle and Machawe Dlamini, but the Leopard goal was a fortress tonight.

The final flourish arrived in the 75th minute as Hleliso Gamedze drilled a low, purposeful strike across the turf to make it four.

Despite the brilliance, the table remains a cruel mistress for Edwin Matsebula’s men; they sit 10th on 27 points, looking up at the tail feathers of Mbabane Swallows who occupy nineth by virtue of a razor-thin head-to-head advantage.

It was a masterpiece conducted by Junior Magagula, who didn’t just score the opener, but served as the very heartbeat of the side, making them tick from the shadows of the backline to the fire of the front.

Man of the Match Junior Magagula (Royal Leopard): He scored the opening goal and was a marvel to watch in the middle of the park, ensuring the team functioned seamlessly from the backline to the striking force.
