NHLANGANO –EswatiniBank has trained agents and residents in Shiselweni on using its ShareSha digital wallet, which allows users to send money to any mobile number, even if the recipient is not registered on the platform.
The training was held at Bethesda Church in Nhlangano as part of the bank’s efforts to expand access to digital financial services in the region.
Eswatini Bank Senior Manager Channels Product Simanga Motsa told agents they were now colleagues of the bank and should work together to ensure customers received assistance.
“Your new name is colleagues; we are now working as one thing to ensure customers get assisted,” Motsa said.
He urged agents to prioritise customer service, saying their relationship with customers was important to the bank’s operations and their own businesses.
“Make sure you take care of customers because there is profit you will get,” he said. “If they do not come to you, it is as if they do not come to the bank. If you face challenges, call us and we will use ‘nkwe’ (urgency) to ensure customers are assisted.”
Motsa said Eswatini Bank was the only institution offering a digital wallet that could operate independently of a traditional bank account.
During the session, bank representative Thembisa Maseko demonstrated how members of the public could register for ShareSha using a mobile phone and a national identity document.
Registration can be completed through the Nomakuphi mobile application, by dialling the USSD code *656# or by visiting a bank branch.
Smartphone users can download or update the Eswatini Bank Nomakuphi application from the Google Play Store, open it, select ‘Sha’ and follow the self-registration process.
Customers can use the service through the Nomakuphi application, USSD cellphone banking or internet banking to send and receive money.
Cash deposits and withdrawals can be made through authorised Eswatini Bank agents, identifiable by branded bibs and umbrellas, or at the bank’s automated teller machines (ATMs).
The wallet also allows users to buy airtime and data bundles from MTN and Eswatini Mobile, pay electricity bills to the Eswatini Electricity Company and settle local water bills.
Customers can also load prepaid cards for digital retail and online transactions.
The bank said the training was intended to equip registered agents with the practical knowledge needed to help customers use ShareSha and access its services.
