MBABANE – Sizeze endured a difficult home campaign after suffering a 71–7 defeat to Botswana in their final BOLESWA Tri-Nations Rugby 15s match on Saturday.
The Eswatini senior men’s national rugby team were outplayed by the Botswana Vultures at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground, bringing their 2026 tournament campaign to a disappointing end. The tournament brought together the teams from Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini (BOLESWA).
The visitors dominated proceedings, running in points to secure an emphatic victory and clinch the championship title.
The result meant Sizeze finished the three-nation competition without a win, having also suffered a narrow 15–13 defeat to Lesotho in their opening encounter on October 24.
That first defeat had offered the hosts hope of bouncing back in front of their home supporters, but Botswana proved a much tougher assignment.
The Vultures had already announced their championship intentions when they thrashed Lesotho 52–5 on October 28.
Botswana finished top of the standings with four match points from two victories, scoring 123 points and conceding 12 for a points difference of plus 111.
Lesotho finished second with one victory and one defeat, collecting four points, scoring 20 points and conceding 65 for a points difference of minus 45.
Eswatini finished third with no victories from two matches and one bonus point, having scored 20 points and conceded 86, leaving them with a points difference of minus 66.
Despite the disappointing results, the competition provided Sizeze with valuable international exposure and an opportunity to measure themselves against regional opposition.
Botswana will host the 2027 edition, taking over hosting duties from Eswatini.
